Triclosan – an antibacterial chemical and synthetic preservative. This chemical was banned in 2016 for causing hormonal imbalance issues and bacterial resistance.
Phthalates – these chemicals are related to endocrine disruption, risk of birth defects, reproductive toxicity, and cancer. They were banned in Europe as of 2020 but are still allowed in the United States.
Diethanolamine – aka DEA is a known carcinogen. This chemical can be disguised as a number of different names (hit the link to the above article for the list of alternate names).
Butane – found in spray on or aerosol deodorants and antiperspirants and are known carcinogens leading to specifically leukemia and other blood cancers.
Parabens – this chemical has been shown to mimic estrogen in the body when we are exposed to it and causes reproductive issues in both men and women and increases the risk of certain cancers.
